AL TAKASUR (THE EXCESS)

Allah – beginning with the name of – the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

AYAT |
TRANSLATION |
|
1 |
أَلْهَاكُمُ التَّكَاثُرُ |
|
The craving for excess wealth kept you people neglectful. |
|
|
2 |
حَتَّىٰ زُرْتُمُ الْمَقَابِرَ |
|
Until you confronted the graves. |
|
|
3 |
كَلَّا سَوْفَ تَعْلَمُونَ |
|
Yes certainly, you will soon realise! |
|
|
4 |
ثُمَّ كَلَّا سَوْفَ تَعْلَمُونَ |
|
Again, yes certainly, you will soon realise! |
|
|
5 |
كَلَّا لَوْ تَعْلَمُونَ عِلْمَ الْيَقِينِ |
|
Yes certainly, if you had believed with certainty, you would not have craved for wealth. |
|
|
6 |
لَتَرَوُنَّ الْجَحِيمَ |
|
Indeed you will see hell. |
|
|
7 |
ثُمَّ لَتَرَوُنَّهَا عَيْنَ الْيَقِينِ |
|
Again, indeed you will see it with certainty. |
|
|
8 |
ثُمَّ لَتُسْأَلُنَّ يَوْمَئِذٍ عَنِ النَّعِيمِ |
|
Then, on that day, you will surely be questioned regarding the favours. |
