AL QARIA`H (THE TERRIFYING EVENT)

1 |
الْقَارِعَةُ |
|
The event that terrifies the hearts! |
|
|
2 |
مَا الْقَارِعَةُ |
|
What is the event that terrifies the hearts? |
|
|
3 |
وَمَا أَدْرَاكَ مَا الْقَارِعَةُ |
|
And what have you understood, what the event that terrifies the hearts is! |
|
|
4 |
يَوْمَ يَكُونُ النَّاسُ كَالْفَرَاشِ الْمَبْثُوثِ |
|
The day when men will be like scattered moths. |
|
|
5 |
وَتَكُونُ الْجِبَالُ كَالْعِهْنِ الْمَنفُوشِ |
|
And mountains will be like flying wool. |
|
|
6 |
فَأَمَّا مَن ثَقُلَتْ مَوَازِينُهُ |
|
So for one whose scales prove heavy, |
|
|
7 |
فَهُوَ فِي عِيشَةٍ رَّاضِيَةٍ |
|
He is therefore in the desired bliss. |
|
|
8 |
وَأَمَّا مَنْ خَفَّتْ مَوَازِينُهُ |
|
And for one whose scales prove light, |
|
|
9 |
فَأُمُّهُ هَاوِيَةٌ |
|
He is in the lap of one that abases. |
|
|
10 |
وَمَا أَدْرَاكَ مَا هِيَهْ |
|
And what have you understood, what the one that abases is! |
|
|
11 |
نَارٌ حَامِيَةٌ |
|
A flaming fire! |
