AL FATEHA (THE OPENING)
(Revealed once at Makkah and once at Medinah – contains 7 verses)
Allah – beginning with the name of – the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
| AYAT | TRANSLATION |

| 1 | بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ |
| Allah – beginning with the name of – the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. | |
| 2 | الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ |
| All praise is to Allah, the Lord Of The Worlds (entire creation). | |
| 3 | الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ |
| The Most Gracious, the Most Merciful | |
| 4 | مَالِكِ يَوْمِ الدِّينِ |
| Owner of the Day of Recompense | |
| 5 | إِيَّاكَ نَعْبُدُ وَإِيَّاكَ نَسْتَعِينُ |
| You alone we worship and from You alone we seek help (and may we always). | |
| 6 | اهْدِنَا الصِّرَاطَ الْمُسْتَقِيمَ |
| Guide us on the Straight Path. | |
| 7 | صِرَاطَ الَّذِينَ أَنْعَمْتَ عَلَيْهِمْ غَيْرِ الْمَغْضُوبِ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلَا الضَّالِّينَ |
| The path of those whom You have favoured – Not the path of those who earned Your anger – nor of the astray. | |
