Surah Al Teen

AL TEEN (THE OLIVE)

(Revealed at Mecca – contains 8 verses – 1 section)

Bimsillah Hir Rahmaan Nir Raheem

Allah – beginning with the name of – the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

AYAT TRANSLATION
1 وَالتِّينِ وَالزَّيْتُونِ
By oath of the fig and of the olive,
2 وَطُورِ سِينِينَ
And by oath of Mount Sinai,
3 وَهَٰذَا الْبَلَدِ الْأَمِينِ
And by oath of this secure land,
4 لَقَدْ خَلَقْنَا الْإِنسَانَ فِي أَحْسَنِ تَقْوِيمٍ
We have indeed created man in the best shape.
5 ثُمَّ رَدَدْنَاهُ أَسْفَلَ سَافِلِينَ
We then turned him towards all the lowest of the low states.
6 إِلَّا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ فَلَهُمْ أَجْرٌ غَيْرُ مَمْنُونٍ
Except those who accepted faith and did good deeds – for them is a never ending reward.
7 فَمَا يُكَذِّبُكَ بَعْدُ بِالدِّينِ
So after this, what causes you to deny the judgement?
8 أَلَيْسَ اللَّهُ بِأَحْكَمِ الْحَاكِمِينَ
Is not Allah the Greatest Judge upon all judges?
